A couple of us spent a week in the Isle of Wight recently and as we’ve said before, one of the great joys of travelling to new places is trying the local beers and drinking in the local pubs. Goddards were the local brewery and we enjoyed their beers both on draft and bottled from a farm shop. We only managed one pub crawl night out around Ventnor but had some great beer in some interesting places. Particular shout outs to The Volunteer, which seemed to be a great local pub (provided you avoid the darts on the way to the gents!) and the Spyglass Inn which is a lively place right on the seafront.
