We visited the Barley and Rye on Saturday night and thoroughly enjoyed the place. Anywhere that has a beer and whisky menu on every table is on to a winner with me from the start. Add in a great range of beer and friendly knowledgeable staff and you would think that a place in a busy city centre would be packed but for some reason there were very few people in there.
To us, it’s a refuge amongst a row of bars and clubs with loud music and shots that really aren’t our type of place. We assumed others would feel the same- the only thing I can think of is that it’s too clean cut for the too cool for school modern image of craft beer but for me its about good beer (a range of bourbon helps as well!) and this place certainly has that, I highly recommend it.
